Türkiye Visa 2026: Visa-Free Entry, the Conditional e-Visa and Sticker Visas

Türkiye sorts foreign visitors into three groups, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs publishes exactly which group each nationality falls into. Most Western, Latin American, Gulf and East Asian passports enter without a visa. South Asian, Philippine and some Middle Eastern passports can use the online e-Visa, but only if they already hold a valid visa or residence permit for a Schengen country, the United States, the United Kingdom or Ireland. Nigerian and most East African passports need a sticker visa lodged at an authorised application centre.

Key points about Türkiye entry rules: - Visa-exempt for up to 90 days in any 180: the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Morocco, Iran, Lebanon, Ukraine and, since 2 January 2026, China. Russia gets 60 days; Thailand and Indonesia 30 days per visit - e-Visa on condition: Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Philippine, Nepalese, Sri Lankan and Iraqi (aged 15 to 50) ordinary passports may obtain a single-entry e-Visa valid for one month at evisa.gov.tr only if they hold a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit. Egyptians under 15 or over 45 get the e-Visa without conditions; those aged 15 to 45 need the supporting visa and must fly Turkish Airlines, AJet, Pegasus, EgyptAir or Air Cairo - e-Visa without conditions: Vietnamese, South African, Mexican and Taiwanese ordinary passports, single entry, 30 days - Sticker visa only: Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania and Myanmar, applied for through the ministry's pre-application system at visa.gov.tr and lodged at the authorised centre for each country: Sefa Visa in Abuja (from 5 January 2026) and Lagos (from 1 June 2026) for Nigeria, Mosaic Visa in Dhaka for Bangladeshis without a qualifying visa, Anatolia Travel Services in eight Pakistani cities, AgentTR in the Philippines - Fees: the e-Visa fee is shown on the portal after you select your nationality; the ministry's published table runs from USD 15 to USD 80, and the Cairo embassy quotes USD 20 for Egyptians. Sticker visa fees are set per mission: Islamabad's 2026 schedule is PKR 52,200 for a three-month single entry and PKR 98,600 for a twelve-month multiple entry, cash only - Passport rule since 1 January 2015: valid for at least 60 days beyond the permitted stay, so 150 days beyond arrival for a 90-day visitor; the ministry advises six months

Who is exempt, in the ministry's words: For the United Kingdom, "ordinary passport holders who travel for touristic purposes are exempt from visas for up to 90 days in any 180 day period". For the United States, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Poland, Portugal and Ireland the wording is "exempted from visa up to 90 days in any 180-day period". Australia's exemption covers "touristic visits and transit travel". Russia's is "touristic and business travels up to 60 days"; Thailand's "up to 30 days"; Indonesia's "30 days for each entry provided that they do not exceed 90 days in any 180 day period". China's, new on 2 January 2026, is "up to 90 days in any 180 day period".

The conditional e-Visa: The ministry's entries for India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal share one formula: ordinary passport holders "with a valid Schengen members or USA, UK, Ireland visa or residence permit may get their single entry e-Visas valid for one month via the website www.evisa.gov.tr, provided that they meet certain conditions". The portal enforces the conditions at application: the supporting visa must be valid on the day of entry, the trip must be tourism or commerce, and, for some nationalities, arrival must be by air on a listed carrier. An e-Visa is never valid for work or study.

The sticker visa: Applicants complete the pre-application at visa.gov.tr, book an appointment at the authorised centre, and lodge the passport with photographs, bank statements, flight and hotel bookings, an employer letter and health insurance; the Cairo embassy's list is representative. Each mission sets fees and turnaround.

Transit: Passengers who stay airside at Istanbul need nothing. Indian and Nepalese passports connecting through Istanbul to Mexico, Panama, Colombia or Venezuela have needed a free electronic airport transit visa since 15 April 2024.
