Two things catch Jordanian travellers out: the UAE and Singapore both require paperwork arranged in advance despite being regional and widely assumed to be easy, and the Schengen states split between VFS Global and TLScontact, so booking at the wrong Amman centre means starting over.

- Every Jordanian visa application is processed in Amman — there are no regional centres, so applicants from Irbid, Zarqa or Aqaba should build the journey into the timeline
- Identify whether your Schengen destination uses VFS Global or TLScontact before hunting for appointments; they are separate centres with separate systems
- The UAE is not visa-free for Jordanians — arrange the tourist visa before travel rather than assuming entry on arrival
- Singapore requires an eVisa arranged through an authorised agent or a local contact; it cannot be obtained at the airport

Do Jordanians need a visa for the UAE?
Yes. Jordanian passport holders need a UAE tourist visa arranged before travel, typically for 30 days, applied for through ICP Smart Services, an airline, a hotel or a travel agent with processing of roughly three to five days. This surprises people who assume regional travel is visa-free — GCC nationals enter without a visa, but Jordan is not a GCC member.
How long can Jordanians stay in Thailand without a visa?
Jordanian passport holders receive a 30-day visa exemption for tourism under the rules the Royal Gazette published on 31 August 2026, in force since 15 September 2026 (the previous allowance was 60 days). One in-country extension of up to 30 days is possible at an immigration office for a fee, and visa-exempt entries at land borders are capped at two per calendar year. Complete the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card within 72 hours of arrival.
Which centre handles Schengen visas in Amman?
It depends on your destination country. France and Belgium (and Luxembourg, which Belgium represents) route applications through TLScontact in Amman. Most other member states — including the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and the Czech Republic — use VFS Global in Amman. Each state contracts with only one provider, and the two companies run separate booking systems, so identify the right one before you start searching for appointments — booking at the wrong centre wastes the trip.
Can Jordanians get a Canadian eTA?
No. Canada operates a conditional eTA route for citizens of a specific list of visa-required countries, and Jordan is not on it. A full visitor visa is required, with the CAD 100 fee, biometrics at the visa application centre in Amman, and processing of roughly four to eight weeks. Holding a valid US visa does not change this.
Do Jordanians need a visa for Singapore?
Yes. Jordanian passport holders need a Singapore visa, available as an eVisa arranged through an authorised visa agent or a local contact in Singapore, costing around SGD 30 with processing of three to five days. Singapore is visa-free for many nationalities but not for Jordan, and it cannot be arranged on arrival.
