Malaysia Visa Overview for Chinese Citizens

Chinese citizens can visit Malaysia without a visa for tourism purposes. Visa-exempt under the China-Malaysia mutual visa exemption agreement in force since 17 July 2025: 30 days per visit and no more than 90 days in any 180-day period (Embassy of Malaysia, Beijing), a cap the Home Minister confirmed would be enforced from February 2026. Malaysia Digital Arrival Card within 3 days before arrival (free); passport valid six months. One-year multiple-entry social visit visa RM 30. The maximum permitted stay is 30 days per visit (90 in any 180).

While no visa is required, Chinese passport holders must carry a valid passport and may be asked to present proof of onward travel, accommodation bookings, and evidence of sufficient funds at the border.

Ensure your Chinese passport has adequate validity before departure — most countries require at least 6 months beyond the planned stay. Apply 8-12 weeks before travel, especially during Chinese New Year and Golden Week periods.
