Bangladesh was added to the US visa bond pilot programme effective 21 January 2026. B1/B2 applicants who are otherwise approved may be required to post a refundable bond of $5,000, $10,000 or $15,000 before the visa is issued — the amount is set per applicant at the interview, with $10,000 as the default. Bonded visas are single-entry, valid up to 3 months, with a maximum 30-day stay, and the bond is returned after you depart the US on time. The $250 Visa Integrity Fee was signed into law in July 2025 but is not yet being collected — as of July 2026 no implementation date has been announced. Budget for it as a possible future cost; today's applicants pay the standard fees only. Once implemented, the total would be around $435.
