Understanding the B1/B2 Visa

The US Visa Interview

Application Process
Step 1: Complete DS-160
Fill out the online nonimmigrant visa application form.
Step 2: Pay MRV Fee
Pay the $185 visa application fee. Note: A $250 Visa Integrity and Border Security Fee was enacted in 2025 and applies upon visa approval, in addition to the $185 MRV application fee. Check the State Department website for current implementation status.
Step 3: Schedule Interview
Book appointment at the US Embassy or Consulate.
